Atlanta History Center — Web App
I was the lead developer, handling all aspects of the tech stack from conception to delivery. I worked closely with museum staff and our design team to determine requirements, and deliver at every stage of the project.

Finding a Way
This interactive map provides information and directions to visitors at the Atlanta History Center. It was intended for both kiosks and mobile devices, and included a dedicated event map in the parking deck.
See it in actionInfrastructure
The project itself came with a few constraints. Ideally the map would work on existing infrastructure, and be simple to deploy and migrate. The kiosk screens shouldn't require any new software subscriptions or proprietary hardware. It needed an easy-to-use CMS, so employees could update the event display daily. We settled on a Vue-based front end, and a CMS driven by PHP and SQLite.
Accessible Information
The map is as informative as it is utilitarian, designed to help guests learn about exhibits and locations they may otherwise miss. It also included practical information on parking, wheelchair accessible paths, and ticketing. Following a successful launch, we also added localization for multiple languages, to better serve all visitors.
A Convoluted Path
There were some bumps along the way - namely, a global pandemic, which required a quick pivot on the project deliverables. The mobile version of the map took priority, and more emphasis was placed on the outdoor areas. We added an information window, to provide easily editable messaging on ever-changing restrictions and mask mandates.
